8BitDo has introduced a new $26 mod kit that allows users to convert their old GameCube controllers into wireless Bluetooth devices. This enables compatibility with the Nintendo Switch and Android, and even the original GameCube if users purchase the $26 Retro Receiver.

The mod kit comes equipped with Hall Effect joysticks, a Trigger Pack, and a rechargeable 300mAh battery, providing around 6 hours of gameplay. Pre-orders for the kit are currently open and it will start shipping on September 25.

Traditional adapters for using GameCube controllers with the Switch, such as 8BitDo's GBros. adapter and Nintendo's official adapter, become unnecessary with this kit. Users simply need to open the controller and replace the old PCB with the new one to achieve wireless Bluetooth connectivity.
