SS Pharmaceuticals is organizing a unique Street Fighter 6 tournament in Japan on August 31. This event, called Sleep Fighter, mandates that each player gets at least six hours of sleep daily for the week prior, totaling 42 hours per player and 126 hours per team.

Teams falling short of the 126-hour requirement will be penalized with a 5-point deduction per missing hour. Additionally, teams that accumulate more sleep will gain an advantage by being able to choose the configuration for the ExtraMatch tiebreaker if the regular matches end in a draw.

The event is part of the Active Sleep Project, an initiative to stress the importance of proper sleep for mental and physical performance. Using devices to track sleep, the tournament aims to show that adequate rest is crucial, especially for gamers often sacrificing sleep for longer gaming hours.
