Adobe's Firefly launches on iOS and Android

Adobe launched Firefly on iOS and Android, enhancing creative possibilities with AI image and video generation.

: Adobe is expanding its AI-based creative tools to mobile platforms, with the release of the Firefly app on iOS and Android. This app supports various models for image and video generation, including Adobe's own as well as OpenAI's GPT, Google's Imagen 3, and Flux's Pro solutions. Creative Cloud subscribers can seamlessly start projects on mobile and continue on desktop, utilizing tools like generative fill and expand. Adobe's technologies have fostered substantial growth, evidenced by over 24 billion media assets created and a 30% increase in first-time subscribers.

Adobe has officially launched its dedicated Firefly mobile app for both iOS and Android devices on June 17, 2025. The app brings the full suite of Adobe’s generative AI capabilities—including text-to-image, text-to-video, and image-to-video tools—alongside earlier desktop features like Generative Fill and Generative Expand, making on-the-go creative workflows seamless.

The new mobile app integrates not only Adobe’s proprietary Firefly models but also third-party partners such as Google’s Imagen and Veo series, OpenAI’s image generator, Ideogram, Luma AI, Pika, and Runway. This expanded model ecosystem delivers a broad range of stylistic and functional options directly via smartphones.

Firefly mobile synchronizes generated content with Adobe Creative Cloud, allowing users to seamlessly transition between mobile, web, and desktop environments. Some capabilities require consumption of Firefly generative credits, available through Creative Cloud subscriptions or standalone Firefly plans, with premium model access priced consistently at around $10 per month.

Alongside the mobile app launch, Adobe expanded its Firefly Boards platform—which supports collaborative moodboarding—by adding video generation and editing capabilities. These improvements enable users to remix uploaded clips, generate new footage via Adobe’s video model and partner services, and bring these features to other Firefly tools soon.

Adobe emphasizes user trust by employing models trained exclusively on licensed or public-domain content. Commercial safety and copyright compliance remain core priorities, as highlighted by CTO Ely Greenfield. With over 24 billion assets created via Firefly and a 30% increase in usage and subscribers quarter over quarter, the tool’s mobile expansion reinforces Adobe’s leading role in accessible creative AI.
