Alleged Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 XL leak shows a redesigned camera bar
A leak reveals the upcoming Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 XL, showcasing a redesigned camera bar and differences in rear finishes.
We’re less than a month away from the next Made by Google event, and a leak has given us a glimpse of the expected Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 XL. TikTok user pixo_unpacking posted videos of apparent pre-production samples, showing a redesigned camera bar in an elongated oval shape and significant back finish differences between the two models.
The standard Pixel 9 features a glossy rear finish and two back cameras, while the larger Pixel 9 XL sports a matte finish with three cameras. These differences were noted despite Google’s typical rear-panel etchings for prototypes, mostly covered in the clips by labels.
Google’s August 13 event, now set to take place in Mountain View instead of New York City, is expected to unveil these new phones along with a next-generation Pixel Fold, a new Tensor chip, and a third-generation Pixel Watch. AI advancements and new features, including the rumored Pixie AI assistant, are also anticipated, with potential additions like iPhone-like emergency satellite messaging.
