Amazon's Throne and Liberty MMO is set to launch in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan on September 17, with full cross-platform support for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. An open beta will occur in July, and players can sign up through the game's website.
The game, originally intended as a sequel to Lineage, offers both player vs. player and player vs. environment combat. Set in the open world of Solisium, the environment features dynamic weather that affects gameplay and allows characters to shapeshift for enhanced navigation.
Amazon Games hopes to replicate the success it had with Lost Ark, another popular MMO. While Amazon's game division has faced challenges, including shutting down its first in-house game, Crucible, the company is also working on other significant titles like a Lord of the Rings MMO and the next Tomb Raider game.
