AMD's Ryzen 7 9800X3D is set to officially launch on November 7, priced at $479, following its predecessor, the 7800X3D. Built on a new Zen 5 architecture and equipped with second-generation 3D V-Cache technology, this chip is fully unlocked, enabling overclocking while being cautious about potential warranty voids.

This CPU features eight high-performance cores and 16 processing threads, offering a base clock of 4.7 GHz and a max boost clock of 5.2 GHz, surpassing the 7800X3D’s specifications. With a power of 120W TDP and 104 MB of cache, it provides up to an eight percent gaming performance improvement compared to its predecessor and outpaces the competition by 20 percent.

In popular games like Far Cry 6, it offers a 20 percent performance boost over the 7800X3D, and users can expect over 50 percent faster performance against Intel's Arrow Lake chip in certain titles. Despite these advancements, AMD emphasizes the risk of overclocking, noting that any deviation from official guidelines voids the warranty.
