Analogue’s 4K remake of the N64 is almost ready, and it’s a big deal
Analogue's 4K N64 remake Analogue 3D releases in 2025 for $250.
Analogue is set to release its 4K remake of the Nintendo 64, the Analogue 3D, in early 2025 for $250, with pre-orders beginning on October 21, 2024. Utilizing powerful FPGA technology, it accurately emulates the original N64 on a hardware level, promising compatibility with all official N64 cartridges without flaws.
The Analogue 3D provides modern enhancements like 4K output, support for variable refresh rates, and custom Original Display Modes that mimic CRT displays. It aims to preserve classic gameplay experiences while making them accessible on contemporary displays, including support for PAL and NTSC regions.
While maintaining a nostalgic yet modern design, the console includes support for both original controllers and new options like 8BitDo's custom Bluetooth controller. Analogue's design philosophy emphasizes minimal lag and improved visuals, hoping to attract both retro enthusiasts and new gamers to the N64's rich library.
