: Apple has partnered with SpaceX and T-Mobile to integrate Starlink satellite internet into iPhones. With the release of iOS 18.3, iPhones can now connect to Starlink for satellite internet when cellular service is unavailable. Initially limited to texting in the US, Apple and Starlink plan to expand data and voice call functionality globally. This new feature provides connectivity without cellular towers, aimed at remote areas.

Apple has collaborated with SpaceX and T-Mobile to enable Starlink satellite internet on iPhones. Unveiled with iOS 18.3, this functionality allows iPhones to use satellite internet when cellular service is inaccessible.

Previously, T-Mobile offered Starlink mainly for Samsung phones, while Apple provided its own SOS service via Globalstar. The current software update makes it easier for iPhones to connect to Starlink without requiring manual sky orientation.

Initially, the feature is limited to texting in the US, but is set for broader testing and expansion to data connections and voice calls. This seeks to enhance connectivity in remote areas lacking cellular signals, with potential worldwide accessibility.
