Apple unveiled Apple Intelligence at WWDC 2024, focusing on generative AI with enhanced personalization, privacy, and integration across its ecosystem.

Apple announced its new generative AI initiative, Apple Intelligence, at WWDC 2024. Built with a focus on user privacy and personalization, it integrates deeply into the Apple ecosystem, including iOS, macOS, and visionOS.

Notably, Siri receives its most significant update in over a decade, incorporating generative AI to support text-based queries and enabling deeper app integration. Apple Intelligence relies on advanced language models, with much of the processing occurring locally to ensure privacy, although some tasks will still utilize cloud computing.

The new feature will first roll out to the latest versions of operating systems, such as iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, and is available on iPhone 15 Pro and M1 devices. Apple also announced a partnership with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT capabilities to its products, enhancing user experiences without additional sign-ups or fees. Third-party app integrations and tools like Image Playground and Genmoji will further extend the platform's capabilities.
