: Apple has launched the iPhone 16e, featuring a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display and the new Apple C1 modem. Priced at $599, the 16e offers modern hardware such as an A18 chip, a 48-megapixel camera, and iOS 18 capabilities. It is the most affordable option among new models after the discontinuation of earlier lower-cost phones like the iPhone 14 and SE 3.

Apple has introduced the iPhone 16e, the latest addition to its smartphone lineup, characterized by modern features packed into a redesigned frame. The 16e comes equipped with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, the new A18 chip, and storage options ranging from 128GB to 512GB. This model also marks the debut of Apple's in-house cellular modem, the C1, touted for its power efficiency.

The 16e's exterior resembles the flat-edge design popularized by earlier models, although it is slightly smaller and lighter than the standard iPhone 16. Additional features include a 48-megapixel rear camera, a 12-megapixel TrueDepth front camera, and customizable functionalities via the Action Button. The new model also ensures connectivity with USB-C and supports wireless charging, complying with a battery life of up to 26 hours for local video playback.

Priced higher than the previous SE at $599, the 16e becomes the entry-level option following Apple's decision to discontinue models like the iPhone 14 and SE 3. Despite a $170 premium over the SE 3, the 16e promises enhanced capabilities, alongside satellite services and the latest iOS 18 perks such as advanced generative AI tools. Pre-orders open on February 21, with wider availability from February 28.
