This model supports Thunderbolt 5 and is available in two variants, the M4 and M4 Pro, with prices starting at $599 and $1,399, respectively. Notable improvements include increased performance capabilities, better connectivity options, and higher memory capacity. The design changes make it more compact, bringing it closer in appearance to an Apple TV.

Apple's new Mac Mini features its first major update in nearly 15 years, introducing the M4 Pro chip with 14 cores and Thunderbolt 5 support. The upgraded Mini is available for pre-order in two variants, with the M4 model starting at $599 and the M4 Pro option at $1,399, offering $100 discounts for students.

Improvements to the Mac Mini include significant performance upgrades like an enhanced neural engine, increased memory bandwidth from 200 GB/s to 273 GB/s, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing. These enhancements enable the device to support significantly more audio effect plugins and faster rendering in software like Logic Pro and Blender.

Connectivity has also been modernized, featuring new front USB-C 3.0 ports and an audio jack, with the M4 Pro model incorporating Thunderbolt 5 ports. Alongside these technological advancements, the Mini has undergone a physical redesign, making it slightly taller, thinner, and lighter, resembling an Apple TV, marking a noticeable hardware evolution since the 2010 M1 model.
