The company joins 15 other major tech companies, including Amazon and Google, in adhering to ground rules set in July 2023. Apple has signed the White House’s voluntary commitment to developing AI that is safe, secure, and trustworthy. Apple Intelligence, soon to be integrated into core products, puts generative AI before 2 billion users, marking Apple's full immersion into AI, initially seen during WWDC in June.

Apple aligns with 15 other tech giants like Amazon, Anthropic, and Google who committed in July 2023 to the White House’s AI development rules. This includes stress testing AI models before release, treating unreleased model weights confidentially, and working on labeling systems to differentiate AI-generated content.

The Department of Commerce will release a report on open-source AI's benefits and risks. The White House also noted progress from federal agencies due to October’s AI executive order: over 200 AI-related hires, 80 research teams given access to resources, and several AI development frameworks established.
