: Apple is collaborating with Foxconn and Lenovo to create AI servers based on Apple Silicon. The servers are intended for internal AI inference tasks. Production will occur in Taiwan to leverage local expertise and reduce reliance on China. The company focuses on inference management rather than GPU development.

Apple has taken a strategic step by partnering with Foxconn and Lenovo in its endeavor to build AI servers based on Apple Silicon. The move involves having these servers produced and designed in Taiwan to harness local R&D resources and engineering talent, minimizing the dependency on Chinese manufacturing.

Foxconn, known for its extensive collaboration in AI projects with Nvidia, will produce the servers, while Lenovo's LCFC subsidiary will assist in design. The decision aligns with Apple's focus on advancing AI inference capabilities rather than entering the competitive GPU market for training models, as seen with competitors.

Despite the involvement of major Asian manufacturers, the production volume is expected to be smaller than other tech giants due to Apple's intent to use the servers primarily for its own developments. Meanwhile, the company's suite of generative AI services, called Apple Intelligence, is aiming to enhance AI offerings for its device users.
