Arduino's new Plug and Make Kit is designed to make IoT projects fun and simple
Arduino's $87 Plug and Make Kit offers an easy, solder-free start to IoT projects with pre-configured sensors and actuators.
Arduino's Plug and Make Kit aims to make IoT projects accessible and enjoyable, priced at $87. Tailored for beginners, it eliminates the need for soldering or using jumper wires by offering Modulino nodes that include various pre-configured sensors and actuators which connect to an Arduino UNO R4 WiFi board.
The kit contains the Arduino UNO R4 WiFi 32-bit microcontroller and seven different Modulino nodes: Knob, Pixels, Distance, Movement, Buzzer, Thermo, and Buttons. Additionally, it includes a Modulino Base for organization, USB-C cable with adapter, and Qwiic cables for connections, along with seven introductory projects and access to Arduino’s Cloud for advanced learning.
Arduino's founder Massimo Banzi mentions that the development process has roots dating back to 2006 with multiple projects like TinkerKit and EU Project PELARS leading up to Plug&Make. The kit offers an accessible entry point for anyone interested in electronics but unsure where to start, lowering the barriers to entry and providing a guided start to building IoT projects.
