Atari teases handheld game system with a trackball and a numpad
Atari teases the Gamestation Go, a unique handheld with diverse controls.

Atari has partnered with retro gaming company My Arcade to unveil the Gamestation Go, a handheld game system known for its distinctive control features. This device seems to be a refined version of the Gamestation Portable, which was teased last year. It boasts a conventional D-pad on the left, with a trackball below and a paddle/spinner knob above this. On the right, there are standard A, B, X, Y buttons alongside a numpad, with additional physical buttons for start, select, settings, and credit.
The top edge of the Gamestation Go houses shoulder buttons R1, R2, L1, and L2, accompanied by a microSD card slot, power switch, home button, volume rocker, HDMI-out port, USB-C power connector, and a headphone jack. Interestingly, most controls are backlit or outlined with light, and two USB-C ports on the back appear to support wired controllers. There are cooling vents and a kickstand on the back, which contribute to the overall ergonomic design.
Pricing and bundled games for the Gamestation Go have not been revealed, though it might be similar to the previously planned $149 price tag for the Gamestation Portable. The tagline "An icon, reimagined" accompanies the teaser, indicating nostalgia woven with modern touches. As CES approaches, commencing on January 7th in Las Vegas, more information about this unique handheld is anticipated to be disclosed.
