Atlus reveals 'Raidou Remastered' for Switch 2 with information on performance and resolution
Atlus to launch Raidou Remastered for Switch 2 at 60fps, 1080p resolution.

Atlus, a prominent Japanese video game company widely known for its role-playing games, has revealed details about the upcoming release of 'RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army' for the Nintendo Switch and the newly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. This game, initially made for PlayStation 2, will see a new life on modern consoles, marking a significant moment for fans of the original series. According to the company's Japanese website, the Switch 2 version promises to run at a smooth 60 frames per second at a resolution of 1920x1080 in both docked and handheld modes, a notable improvement over its predecessor.
In comparison, the version for the original Nintendo Switch is set to operate between 30 to 60 frames per second, with a resolution of 1920x1080 in TV mode and 1280x720 in handheld mode. These specifications indicate that while the original Switch will support the remaster, the Switch 2 version will offer a more stable and possibly enhanced gaming experience. This enhanced performance is in line with the hardware improvements expected with the Switch 2, a console that accompanies much speculation and excitement.
The PlayStation 4 version holds similar specifications, running at resolutions of 1920x1080 with a frame rate range from 30 to 60fps. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X users will experience 3840x2160 resolution at a consistent 60 frames per second. For Xbox Series S users, the resolution will be 2560x1440. Such differences in performance between platforms underscore the variation in gaming experiences across different hardware.
Atlus also noted the nature of the physical release for the Switch 2, which will come as a game-key card requiring 17GB of free space. This decision highlights the ongoing industry trend where physical releases are increasingly adopting digital download components, reflecting a notable shift in gaming consumption. It poses an interesting choice for gamers who prefer physical editions due to collection or storage preferences.
Amidst discussions on forums, some fans expressed discontent with the resolution and frame rate caps on these new-gen consoles, expecting at least 1440p outputs for Switch 2. Others expressed preferences for PlayStation editions, which deliver slightly better specifications and avoid the game's encumbrance as a digital download. Nevertheless, expectations remain high among fans for Atlus' distinctive contribution to supernatural action RPG gaming, with many eagerly anticipating its release.
