Blue Yonder investigating data theft claims after ransomware gang takes credit for cyberattack
Blue Yonder investigates a data breach by Termite, linked to Babuk, affecting various clients, including Starbucks.
Blue Yonder, a major player in supply chain management software, is probing claims of a data breach following a cyberattack on November 21. The Termite ransomware group announced on its dark web site that it was behind the attack and reportedly acquired 680 gigabytes of various data from the company.
Termite, thought to be linked to the defunct Babuk group responsible for numerous past cyberattacks, is threatening to disclose the data. Despite not detailing amounts or types of stolen data, Blue Yonder, with spokesperson Marina Renneke, confirmed awareness of the situation and ongoing investigations with cybersecurity experts.
Blue Yonder has communicated with affected customers about the disruptions caused by this incident. Among its extensive client list, Starbucks, Morrisons, and Sainsbury's confirmed being impacted, with the attack forcing some operations to revert to manual processes.
