Activision Blizzard has observed a 43% decline in toxic voice chat in Call of Duty, attributed to the AI moderation system, ToxMod. Since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III's November release, ToxMod has been monitoring keywords and emotions from text transcripts of player voice chats.

ToxMod has facilitated a 67% reduction in repeat offenders in Modern Warfare III and Warzone since its enhancements in June 2024. In the month of July, 80% of players caught in violation did not re-offend, indicating the system's effectiveness.

The moderation technology will soon expand to include French and German with the arrival of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Current systems, employing Community Sift for text moderation, support English, Spanish, and Portuguese, with plans for broader linguistic reach announced.
