An unannounced Warhammer RPG based on the Age of Sigmar was recently confirmed to have been cancelled. This game was being developed by Thought Pennies in collaboration with Games Workshop and Nexon before Nexon made a strategic change leading to the project's end. Nexon remains involved as a board member to assist the wrap-up of the project.

Initial plans included a 'new PvE social multiplayer' game for PC, consoles, and mobile platforms. The game would allow players to explore the Mortal Realms, controlling the war hosts of the God-king Sigmar and allies against Chaos Gods. Each character in the game would have unique gameplay and customizable features, promoting cooperative gameplay to reclaim the Realms.

Games Workshop continues to expand the Warhammer series, building on the past success of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. Additionally, in December, Games Workshop and Amazon Studios have agreed to adapt Warhammer 40K for film and television, seeking to widen the franchise's reach further.
