China’s Geely to bring Black Myth: Wukong in-car gaming experience to its vehicles
Geely integrates Black Myth: Wukong with its vehicles through Ecarx’s Makalu platform, enhancing in-car experiences.
Geely is incorporating the Chinese RPG Black Myth: Wukong into its vehicle systems through Ecarx's next-generation Makalu digital cockpit computing platform, demonstrating the increasing significance of software-driven features in modern automobiles. During tests, Ecarx managed to achieve a 2K resolution at nearly 60 FPS, with the game functioning alongside the instrument panel and other displays. This integration is further empowered by AMD’s Ryzen V2000 processors and Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs, offering computing power up to 10.1 teraflops.
The move by Geely reflects a broader trend in the automotive industry, where automakers are leveraging high-tech features to attract consumers. Ecarx had previously announced its use of AMD's graphics chips, becoming the second auto firm worldwide to offer such an advancement. The Makalu platform allows developers to optimize their games for in-car systems using Unreal Engine from Epic Games, making it possible for users to enjoy AAA games on the go.
The first model to integrate Ecarx’s platform will be the Lynk & Co Z10, an all-electric large sedan from the Geely-Volvo joint brand, slated for launch on September 5. This sedan promises a driving range of over 800 kilometers and an acceleration rate of 3.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. Other automakers like Tesla and Volkswagen are similarly advancing in-car experiences, while Black Myth: Wukong continues to be a significant success in the gaming market.
