This budget laptop supports advanced features like an AI-optimized NPU and a Radeon 840M iGPU. AMD aims for a price below $800, with support for DDR5 RAM and USB 4.

ECS is set to introduce a new laptop featuring AMD's Krackan Point APUs at CES 2025. These processors are engineered to provide a low-cost entry into Microsoft's Copilot+ PC standard, directly competing with Intel's Lunar Lake Core Ultra 200V series.

The ECS UP42KP laptop is expected to include the Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, boasting features like four Zen 5 cores, four Zen 5c cores, an integrated GPU with eight RDNA 3.5 compute units, and a 40 TOPs NPU. Designed to be budget-friendly with a target price under $800, this 14-inch 1080p laptop includes DDR5-5600 RAM support, multiple connectivity options, and privacy features.

Krackan Point is positioned below the Strix Point series in AMD's Zen 5 lineup, which suits a variety of devices, from handheld gaming PCs to notebooks. As ECS prepares for this launch, AMD also hints at further advancements with the upcoming Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs, reinforcing its innovation in both mobile and desktop sectors.
