Cybertruck explosion outside Trump hotel in Vegas leaves 1 dead, 7 injured
A Cybertruck explosion in Vegas kills 1, injures 7, linked to fireworks.
A Tesla Cybertruck explosion occurred outside the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, resulting in one casualty and seven minor injuries. Sheriff Kevin McMahill noted the Cybertruck was rented via Turo in Colorado and driven to Vegas, with gasoline canisters and firework mortars found in the truck's bed.
Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, announced on X that telemetry data showed the vehicle was functioning normally and the explosion was due to fireworks or a bomb in the truck bed. Musk provided law enforcement with these details and video footage from Tesla charging stations used by the individual.
Law enforcement continues its investigation but sees no immediate threat to Vegas after the incident. Coordination between Gov. Joe Lombardo's office, LVMPD, and partner agencies is ongoing to ensure community safety.
