The anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s “Daemons of the Shadow Realm” has been officially announced, marking a reunion between the Fullmetal Alchemist creator and Studio BONES. Studio BONES, which worked on both Fullmetal Alchemist adaptations, will once again oversee animation, signaling high production values and faithful adaptation.

“Daemons of the Shadow Realm” follows twins Yuru and Asa, who are separated in a world where Daemons serve as powerful protectors. The story focuses on their efforts to master the Daemons and reunite to save humanity. Since its debut in 2021 in Monthly Shōnen Gangan, the manga has gained a strong following and millions of copies in circulation.

Hiromu Arakawa expressed excitement about the anime adaptation, noting that production has been underway for some time. The anime promises to blend dark fantasy elements with emotional storytelling, backed by a seasoned team and strong early interest. With a compelling visual style and Arakawa’s signature narrative depth, it’s poised to be one of the standout anime launches in 2025.
