Disney forms dedicated AI and XR group to coordinate company-wide use and adoption
Disney forms an AI and XR group under Jamie Voris, aiming for 100 staff.
Disney has launched the Office of Technology Enablement to enhance its use of artificial intelligence and extended reality technologies. Jamie Voris, previously the CTO of Disney's Studios Technology division, will lead this new endeavor, leveraging his experience from the National Football League and recent work on the Apple Vision Pro app.
The initiative aims to coordinate and expedite Disney's technological innovations without taking over existing projects. Instead, Voris's group will support various teams working on AI, AR, and VR to align their projects with broader company goals, aiming for an expansion to around 100 employees.
Alan Bergman, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, emphasized the profound impact of AI and XR on consumer experiences and creative endeavors. By forming this group, Disney underscores its commitment to shaping responsible technology use and remaining at the forefront of industry advancements.
