Dispatch is a narrative game from ex-Telltale devs set for 2025.
Dispatch, set to be released in 2025, is a new narrative game developed by AdHoc Studio, a company established by former Telltale Games developers. This game was highlighted at The Game Awards, where famous personalities like Aaron Paul and Laura Bailey announced its launch, marking a promising endeavor in the narrative gaming field.
The gameplay revolves around a character named Robert Robertson, also known as Mecha Man, whose mech-suit gets destroyed. Consequently, he is forced to work at a superhero dispatch center, not as a hero, but as a dispatcher. This role involves managing a team of misfit heroes, dealing with emergencies, and navigating the complexities of office politics and personal relationships while pursuing his own journey to become a hero.
Founded in 2019, AdHoc aimed to continue the narrative-driven adventure game legacy after Telltale Games laid off most of its team in 2018. Telltale and AdHoc previously collaborated on The Wolf Among Us 2, a project that, despite some setbacks, has not been canceled. The game's concept as a 'superhero workplace comedy' aims to deliver engrossing, choice-driven experiences to players, reminiscent of the beloved Telltale method.
