DJI launches DJI Flip, a foldable drone with hand launch and AI features
DJI unveils DJI Flip, a foldable 4K drone with hand-launch and AI, amid potential US drone restrictions.

DJI, a leading drone manufacturer, announced the DJI Flip, a foldable drone designed with a 1/1.3-inch image sensor that can capture 4K/60fps HDR videos. Weighing less than 249 grams, it boasts an AI-supported tracking system and allows for hand launches, eliminating the need for remote controllers.
The DJI Flip introduces user-friendly features such as voice control with the phrase "Hey Fly," and easy takeoff through the DJI Fly app, enabling single-handed operation. With capabilities like 48MP photo capture, dual native ISO fusion, and 10-bit D-Log M color mode, it is a powerful yet portable option for vloggers and hobbyists.
As DJI faces scrutiny from the US government, which is reviewing restrictions on Chinese drones, this product launch occurs during a crucial time. Despite these challenges, DJI's market share remains dominant, accounting for over half of the commercial drone sales in America.
