DJI launches the Action 5 Pro camera with subject tracking and improved video
DJI unveils the Action 5 Pro, boasting 4K 120p video, subject tracking, and enhanced battery life at $349, aiming to outdo GoPro.
DJI has introduced the Action 5 Pro camera, aimed at challenging GoPro’s market dominance. The camera includes a 'next-gen' sensor, greatly improved video quality, subject tracking, and better battery life. The newly designed 1/1.3-inch sensor offers 13.5 stops of dynamic range and a maximum photo resolution of 40 megapixels, a significant upgrade from its predecessor's 10MP. Users can capture 4K video at 120p and benefit from subject tracking and centering functionality.
Enhanced battery life is a key highlight, with the new 1950mAh battery allowing up to four hours of continuous use, a 50% increase over the previous model. The Action 5 Pro is waterproof up to 20 meters and features larger OLED screens with thinner bezels, making it more user-friendly. DJI also included updated Mimo app, Wi-Fi livestreaming, and a pressure gauge for underwater use, enhancing safety.
The Action 5 Pro is available at $349 for the Pro Combo, which includes the camera and essential accessories. For $449, the Adventure Combo offers additional batteries, a charger, and an extension rod. With these advanced features and competitive pricing, DJI positions the Action 5 Pro as a formidable contender against GoPro.
