DJI Power 1000 review: with great power comes many dongles

DJI's Power 1000 offers 2200W output and versatile SDC ports but requires multiple dongles, limiting its broad usability for all-purpose power needs.

: The DJI Power 1000 is a compact power station with a 2200W AC inverter and a 1024Wh battery. It uses versatile Smart DC ports for expanding inputs and outputs via proprietary adapters, effectively fast-charging DJI drones. However, its reliance on many dongles and proprietary cables limits its functionality as an all-purpose power station.

The DJI Power 1000 introduces a unique approach to portable power stations, featuring a powerful 2200W AC inverter and a 1024Wh battery within a compact design. It is priced at $599 and offers specialized fast-charging for select DJI drones through its Smart DC (SDC) ports and proprietary adapters, but standard inputs and outputs are notably absent.

This power station includes USB-C PD 3.1 outputs capable of 140W and leverages SDC ports to maintain portability but at the cost of requiring multiple dongles. While it excels in quick-charging compatible drones, the lack of a multi-battery charging hub for the SDC ports and narrow temperature range for fast-charging are limiting factors.

Professionals who own compatible DJI drones will find the Power 1000 useful for maintaining mobile operations. However, its reliance on proprietary dongles and cables can be inconvenient, making other more universally versatile power stations like the EcoFlow Delta 2 or Bluetti AC180 worth considering.
