EA FC 25's new Rush format is better than Volta - but where's FIFA Street when you need it?
EA FC 25 introduces Rush, a new 5v5 format replacing Volta. It's integrated across multiple modes, offering enhanced gameplay but lacking FIFA Street's charm.
Rush, a new 5v5 football format in EA FC 25, replaces the older Volta mode. Sam Rivera, EA's senior producer, stated that feedback on Volta showed players missed out on other modes like Ultimate Team and Clubs, prompting the development of Rush.
Rush is not a standalone mode but a 'gameplay experience' integrated into Career Mode, Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Kick Off. It requires a team of four human players, and features unique elements like a modified offside rule and Blue Cards for one-minute sin-bins.
EA Sports highlights the more fluid nature of Rush compared to Volta, thanks to a pitch 230% larger. However, despite the improvements making it more engaging, it still doesn't capture the playful spirit of the early 2000s game, FIFA Street.
