Elon Musk unveils a new strategy to win back MAGA supporters
Elon Musk seeks to regain MAGA support by critiquing progressives while managing business setbacks.

Elon Musk has recently escalated his efforts to appeal to MAGA conservatives by intensifying attacks on “woke” ideologies and aligning himself more overtly with former President Trump’s agenda. He’s made substantial contributions via America PAC, reportedly totaling hundreds of millions of dollars, spotlighting his intention to wield financial influence in conservative circles.
Amid this push, Musk floated the idea of forming a new “America Party” intended to represent what he described as the 80% of Americans in the political center. He even polled his 220 million X followers, with a majority supporting the initiative. Whether this develops into a third party or Musk opts to reform the GOP from within remains uncertain.
Musk’s rise as a MAGA ally has, however, sparked tensions within the conservative movement. Figures such as Steve Bannon have criticized him for past business dealings with China and prior hesitancy to fully back Trump. Trump has reportedly urged Bannon to cease public criticism and facilitate a reconciliation with Musk.
At the same time, Musk’s financial interventions are shaping Republican primaries. He has warned Republicans against obstructing Trump, hinting at funding challengers if needed, reinforcing his emerging role as a “political enforcer” within the movement.
Musk has begun to visibly champion pro-Trump organizing, holding campaign-style events, especially in swing-state suburbs, encouraging early voting and constitutional messaging. Despite technical hiccups and some audience skepticism, he remains committed, continuing to back America PAC’s outreach efforts.
