xAI has made a significant advancement with the release of Grok 3, a powerful AI model designed to compete with leading models like OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Google’s Gemini. The model was developed using a massive data center in Memphis, employing 200,000 GPUs, which Musk claims provides '10x' more computing power than its predecessor, Grok 2.

Grok 3 is part of a family of models, including Grok 3 mini, which sacrifices some accuracy for speed. The reasoning models within Grok 3, such as Grok 3 Reasoning, aim to self-fact-check and outshine competitors like o3-mini-high on recognized benchmarks like AIME 2025.

Subscribers to the Premium+ and forthcoming SuperGrok plans on X will have preferential access to Grok 3’s features. Musk has also promised future open-sourcing of Grok 2 and announced upcoming capabilities like 'voice mode' for the Grok app to further enhance user interaction.
