Founder of China’s answer to Wayve talks $100m funding, Tesla’s FSD, and AI future

Deeproute.ai raises $100M for AI-driven autonomous driving tech competing with Tesla, leveraging NVIDIA's Drive Thor.

: Deeproute.ai, founded by Maxwell Zhou, has raised $100 million in its Series C1 funding from Great Wall Motor. The startup provides AI-driven autonomous driving technology for over ten car models, competing with Tesla in China. Its approach uses NVIDIA's Drive Thor and focuses on data-driven intelligence rather than rule-based systems. The company is looking at 2024 for a broader market deployment of its end-to-end AI solution.

Maxwell Zhou, the founder of Deeproute.ai, announced a $100 million funding round led by Great Wall Motor to advance their autonomous driving technology. The technology will be featured in over ten new car models next year, helping these automakers compete with Tesla in both China and global markets.

Zhou highlighted Deeproute.ai's approach, which utilizes a data-driven AI system instead of a traditional rule-based one, akin to Tesla and Wayve's methods. The system is set to work with NVIDIA’s latest automotive-grade computer, Drive Thor, to enable efficient processing of complex environmental data.

The Deeproute IO 2.0, an end-to-end AI solution, will launch next year and require human intervention less frequently. This technology is designed to offer advanced driver-assistance features at lower costs compared to lidar-based alternatives, positioning Deeproute.ai to be a major player in the autonomous car sector.
