: Google has introduced Gemini 2.0, its most advanced AI model yet, featuring native support for image and audio output. The new 2.0 Flash version is available for preview and offers better efficiency and affordability for users. Google has rolled out Gemini 2.0, marking it as the company's most capable AI model to date with integrated support for image and audio outputs. Google CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted its potential to develop AI agents advancing towards a universal assistant vision.

The initial roll-out does not include the most advanced variant, Gemini 2.0 Pro. Instead, users can explore the streamlined 2.0 Flash version via the Gemini web client. This version showcases significant improvements over its predecessor, like outperforming Gemini 1.5 Pro in several areas except long-context tasks and automatic speech translation.

Google plans to integrate Gemini 2.0's capabilities into more aspects of its ecosystem, beginning with AI Overviews that can manage complex queries. The model also enhances AI applications such as Project Astra with features like multilingual conversation and tool access. Despite the advancements, Google retains Gemini 1.5 Pro for tasks requiring extended contextual understanding through its new Deep Research tool.
