In 2024, global Internet traffic experienced a notable increase of 17.2%, according to Cloudflare's year-end report. Notably, growth picked up after August, culminating in a strong finish toward the end of the year, despite observable outages during the data collection period.

Mobile devices played a crucial role, contributing over 40% of the total Internet traffic globally. Android devices held a dominant share, especially in regions like Papua New Guinea and Bangladesh, while Apple's iOS was most popular in countries like Denmark.

On the other hand, SpaceX's Starlink satellite Internet service saw a remarkable increase in traffic, nearly tripling compared to previous years. The US reported a 2.5x rise in Starlink traffic, whereas Brazil experienced an even more astonishing growth, over 17 times higher, reinforcing SpaceX's strong presence in the market despite looming competition.
