Gmail users on Android can now chat with Gemini about their emails

Gmail users on Android can now use Google’s AI, Gemini, to chat about their emails.

: Google introduced Gmail Q&A, allowing Android Gmail users to chat with AI assistant Gemini about their emails. Paying users can summarize and search for details in emails through this feature. Currently exclusive to paid subscribers, it's part of Google's shift towards AI chat integration.

Google has rolled out a new feature called Gmail Q&A for Android Gmail users, enabling them to chat with the AI assistant Gemini about their emails. This feature is currently available only to users who pay for Gemini, with plans to extend it to iOS devices in the future.

With Gmail Q&A, users can request Gemini to summarize emails or search for specific information within their inboxes. Although powerful, users should be aware of occasional inaccuracies due to AI model limitations.

Paying users can access this feature by clicking the black star Gemini logo in the Gmail app. The future plans include integrating the feature with Google Drive files, further emphasizing Google's focus on AI chat over traditional search functionality.

In June, Gmail Q&A was initially introduced to web users who pay for Gemini or Google One AI Premium, costing about $20 monthly. Google aims to make these AI features compelling enough to justify the subscription cost while integrating Gemini across its product suite.
