The release of Gemini 2.0 Pro comes when Chinese AI startup DeepSeek is gaining attention with its competitive AI models. Despite Gemini 2.0 Pro being in an early preview phase with potential for unexpected behavior, it lacks real-time info access but offers priority access for Gemini Advanced subscribers who are encouraged to provide feedback for development.

In conjunction with the Pro model, Google has made the Gemini 2.0 Flash model available to all users in the Gemini app, where it will stay as the default model for the time being.
