GoPro’s new flagship Hero 13 Black gets key upgrades and a wide range of lenses

GoPro unveils Hero 13 Black with enhancements and new lenses, and introduces a smaller, lightweight Hero camera.

: GoPro has launched the Hero 13 Black and a smaller Hero camera. Hero 13 Black, priced at $399, features magnetic mounting, in-camera noise reduction, enhanced battery, and Wi-Fi 6. It supports 720p slo-mo at 400fps and 5.3K at 120fps. New lenses, including Ultra Wide and Macro, are also available.

GoPro has introduced two new cameras, the Hero 13 Black and a smaller Hero. The Hero 13 Black is priced at $399 and features upgrades like magnetic mounting, charging capabilities, and three new lenses. These include an Ultra Wide Lens Mod with a 177-degree field of view and an aspect ratio of 1:1, and a Macro Lens Mod, which can't focus closer than 4.3 inches.

Additionally, the Hero 13 Black boasts a redesigned battery with a 10 percent higher capacity than its predecessor. It comes with in-camera noise reduction and recording capabilities of HLG HDR video and 10-bit video in G-Log format. The camera also supports a new burst slo-mo mode with rates of 720p at 400fps, 900p at 360fps, and 5.3K at 120fps, as well as Wi-Fi 6 for faster content transfers.

The smaller Hero action camera, which is 35 percent smaller and 46 percent lighter than the Hero 13 Black, will be available for $199. It weighs 86 grams and has a built-in battery that can last up to 155 minutes while recording 1080p video at 30fps. It also captures 4K at 30fps and offers 2.7K slow-motion recording at 60fps.
