: Elon Musk's company, xAI, is revealing details about 'Unhinged Mode' for its AI chatbot Grok, which promises offensive and edgy responses akin to an amateur comedian's style. Although not yet live, this mode aligns with Musk's original vision of Grok being edgy and anti-'woke.' Musk blames the bias towards the left on training data but aims to make Grok politically neutral. Critics like David Sacks claim AI often censors conservative views.

Elon Musk's xAI recently updated its FAQ page to elaborate on the much-anticipated 'Unhinged Mode' for its AI chatbot, Grok. This mode aims to deliver responses intended to shock or offend, in a style reminiscent of an unrefined stand-up comedian.

Although Grok’s 'Unhinged Mode' is yet to be activated, it aligns with Musk's vision from nearly two years ago of a chatbot that is edgy and willing to tackle controversial topics. Grok, in its current form, often uses profanity but hesitates with political topics, showing a tendency to lean left on issues such as diversity and transgender rights.

Musk has attributed this political bias to the public internet data Grok was trained on, which he claims is biased towards 'woke' perspectives. In response, he intends to drive Grok towards a more politically neutral stance to counteract this issue, echoing concerns from supporters like David Sacks regarding conservative censorship in AI systems.
