Intel loses entire dedicated GPU market share in Q2 2024, while Nvidia and AMD see growth.

: Intel has lost its dedicated GPU market share in Q2 2024, with overall shipments rising 48% year-over-year. Nvidia saw a 61.9% annual increase, maintaining 88% market share, and AMD held on to its 12%. Despite initial hopes with its Arc Alchemist series, Intel's delays and poor performance led to its decline.

In the second quarter of 2024, Intel completely lost its dedicated GPU market share, as reported by Jon Peddie Research. While the overall market saw a 48% year-over-year increase in shipments, Intel's figures remained flat from Q1 2024, showing no improvement.

Nvidia, the market leader, experienced a 61.9% annual growth and a 9.7% quarterly rise, retaining its dominant 88% market share. AMD saw only a 3% year-over-year increase but maintained its 12% share, ensuring steady competition in the market.

Intel's struggle began with the Arc Alchemist series in 2022, which initially captured 4% market share but lost ground due to shipment delays and poor performance. As Nvidia and AMD prepare for new GPU releases, Intel aims to re-enter the market with Arc Battlemage, targeting either the 2024 holiday season or competing with mainstream cards.
