Mark Zuckerberg’s makeover didn’t make people like him, study shows

The Pew Research Center conducted a study revealing that Americans generally have more negative perceptions of Mark Zuckerberg compared to Elon Musk. Despite Zuckerberg's efforts to revamp his public image with high fashion, a significant 67% of U.S. adults still view him unfavorably, compared to 54% for Musk.
Both executives have faced increased scrutiny since President Trump's second term, having both participated in his inauguration events and contributing to his fund. Musk's involvement in U.S. government operations, such as influencing budget cuts at USAID, aligns him closely with Trump, leading to unfavorable views from 85% of Democrats.
Zuckerberg, known for his role in changing Meta's content moderation policies, is disliked across the political spectrum, although he elicits more negative sentiment from Democrats. The survey reflects that 60% of Republican respondents hold an unfavorable opinion of Zuckerberg, while the figure rises to 76% among Democrats. The findings are based on a survey of 5,086 U.S. adults conducted between January 27 and February 2, 2025.
