Mass Effect creator's new studio is shutting down after three years
Humanoid Origin closes three years post-launch due to funding issues.

Humanoid Origin, an indie gaming studio founded by Casey Hudson, is shutting down after three years. The closure is a result of an unexpected funding shortfall, despite efforts to protect the team from industry challenges.
Founded in 2021, when the industry was experiencing a hiring surge post-COVID, Humanoid Origin aimed to foster creative freedom among developers. It was focused on delivering innovation and artistry through a new IP, with content centered on interactive worlds, stories, and characters.
The studio announced in 2022 that it was working on a multi-platform AAA game set in a new science-fiction universe. Despite the anticipation, the funding issues halted the project, and the studio is now dedicated to assisting its team in transitioning to new jobs.
