MealMe, the startup integrating food ordering tech into apps, picks up $8M
MealMe secured $8M in Series A to expand its food ordering API pivoted to B2B, serving over 100 companies in the US and Canada.
MealMe announced securing $8 million in Series A funding, raising its total to $16 million. Originally a consumer app from 2019, MealMe assisted users in finding the best delivery deals before evolving into a platform allowing direct food orders.
The company shifted its focus from a consumer app to a B2B model, providing its API to businesses that integrate ordering solutions into their platforms. This pivot allows customers access to real-time data and ordering from over 1.2 million stores in the U.S. and Canada, with current clients like Fantuan Delivery and TripAdvisor.
Matthew Bouchner, co-founder and president, emphasized their role in embedded commerce, foreseeing a future where ordering is integrated into various consumer platforms. With funds led by Mercury Fund, MealMe aims to bolster marketing efforts and expand their team to support growth into broader e-commerce and AI applications.
