Mercedes-Benz to offer in-car PC cloud gaming via Boosteroid in parked vehicles by 2025.

: Mercedes-Benz will bring in-car PC cloud gaming to its vehicles by 2025 through a partnership with Boosteroid. This feature, available via the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus, requires a subscription, and gamers must bring a Bluetooth controller or compatible smartphone. Microsoft is also involved, aiming to solve regulatory issues from its Activision Blizzard acquisition. The gaming experience will be accessible only when the car is parked.

Mercedes-Benz is set to introduce in-car PC cloud gaming by 2025, partnering with Boosteroid, an independent cloud gaming company. This will offer access to over 1,000 PC games through the Boosteroid app in vehicles equipped with the third-generation MBUX infotainment system and the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus.

Microsoft's deal with Boosteroid, signed in 2023, plays a crucial role in providing these gaming experiences, helping solve regulatory issues related to Microsoft's Activision Blizzard acquisition. Chief Software Officer Magnus Östberg stated that cloud-based gaming is the future, predicting 90 percent of gamers will switch to this method by the 2030s.

While Cloud gaming will be accessible in Mercedes-Benz cars sold in Europe, North America, and South America, it will only be available when the vehicle is parked. Gamers will need their own Bluetooth gaming controller or compatible smartphone, and safety concerns mean gaming while driving is prohibited according to regulations.
