Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 showcases ray tracing, on-foot gameplay, new planes, and optimized systems for detailed environments.

: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 introduces ray tracing, on-foot exploration, and various new activities and visual enhancements. The update also aims to optimize textures and decrease load times while maintaining the same minimum system requirements as its predecessor. Launching on November 19, it will be available on Xbox Series consoles, Steam, Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will feature ray tracing, on-foot gameplay, and activities that bring players closer to the ground. This includes search and rescue, agriculture, and low-altitude training, with overhauled lighting and procedural generation systems for more detailed environments.

Asobo Studio has secured partnerships to introduce new planes and features such as detailed replay capabilities from FlightControlReplay and real-time seacraft positions from Global Ship AI Traffic. Additionally, Got Friends is enhancing the systems for gliders. The game also supports optimized textures to decrease load times and storage requirements while maintaining the same minimum system requirements as the 2020 version.

Flight Simulator 2024 will rely more on the cloud to download only necessary data for the viewed locations. This results in more granular surfaces that give aircraft makers better control when designing planes. The game is set to release on November 19 for Xbox Series consoles, Steam, Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
