The app features templates for creating images, stickers, and greeting cards, and also includes tools for AI-based image editing and collage creation. It is freely accessible to anyone with a personal Microsoft account and Windows users, providing a mobile platform for on-the-go image creation and editing.
The app also includes advanced capabilities like AI-generated borders, background removal, and avatar creation, which prompt users to explore these features. Furthermore, Designer provides 15 free daily boosts for AI-based image creation and editing, with an optional upgrade to a Copilot Pro subscription for 100 daily boosts.
In addition to its standalone offering, Microsoft Designer is integrated within apps like Word and PowerPoint through Copilot, aiding in seamless image and design creation within these applications. Windows Insiders can access Designer features directly within the Photos app on Windows 11, streamlining the process of editing and enhancing images without leaving the app.
