More Samsung Galaxy tri-fold specs have leaked, as One UI 8 offers an initial look at its design
Galaxy tri-fold leaks reveal design with One UI 8 and a 10-inch screen, starting sales late 2025 for $3,000-$3,500.

Samsung is on the verge of launching its Galaxy tri-fold phone according to the latest leaks. The device, likely powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, features a generous 10-inch display. The initial reveal from One UI 8 shows a unique design with two inward-folding hinges separating it from other foldable phones such as Huawei's Mate XT which sports a mix of inward and outward folding hinges.
Critically different in its structure, the Galaxy tri-fold positions its triple-camera setup on the left panel, the cover display in the center, and the right side without a screen. This innovative formation presents an intriguing approach to foldable design. Despite the excitement surrounding its launch, mass production is predicted only to commence by September with sales anticipated in the final quarter of 2025.
Though there is speculation of an official announcement at Samsung's event on July 9, the tri-fold's limited production echoes an exclusive character similar to a tech showcase than a consumer-targeted gadget. "It's apparently more of a tech demonstration showcase," reports TechRadar, indicating the restricted release.
Cost stands as a potential barrier for consumers, which TechRadar estimates between $3,000 and $3,500. Compared to average smartphones, the tri-fold price surpasses the cost of even multiple consoles; similar to previous launches, expect limited availability to South Korean and Chinese markets. This exclusive release model is reminiscent of Huawei's approach and suggests a parallel strategy within premium Asian markets.
With no immediate competitors in the tri-fold domain except Huawei's expensive models, Samsung's device could captivate high-tech enthusiasts seeking cutting-edge technology. Its eventual success might reshape Samsung's foldable strategy and further emphasize their prowess in innovative mobile design.
