Namco supports a new light gun for modern TVs featuring Time Crisis
Namco introduces AI-driven Time Crisis light gun for modern TVs with $89.99 starting price.

Namco has officially backed a new AI-powered light gun called G'AIM'E, designed to bring classic arcade shooters like Time Crisis to modern LCD TVs. Developed by Tassei Denki, the gun uses a high-resolution camera and artificial intelligence to track on-screen movement accurately without needing CRT displays or external sensors. This solves a long-standing issue with adapting light gun games to current TV technology.
The G'AIM'E system is a plug-and-play device that connects directly to a TV and comes pre-loaded with the original Time Crisis arcade game. A deluxe version includes additional Namco titles such as Point Blank, Steel Gunner, and Steel Gunner 2, along with a foot pedal for an authentic arcade-style experience.
A key innovation of the G'AIM'E is its self-recalibrating feature, which adjusts automatically to player movement. This ensures consistent aim accuracy during gameplay, addressing problems with older light gun emulation methods that required manual recalibration or complex setups.
The product is launching via Kickstarter on June 24, 2025. The standard edition starts at $89.99, while the deluxe package is priced at $119.99. The release is timed with the 30th anniversary of Time Crisis, offering long-time fans a nostalgic yet practical way to relive arcade memories.
Compared to previous solutions like the Sinden Light Gun, the G'AIM'E stands out for its ease of use and official Namco support. Its design aims to revive interest in the light gun genre, making it accessible to a new generation of gamers on modern home setups.
