Nintendo is broadening its lineup with the introduction of a new app for both the Nintendo Switch and smart devices titled 'Hello, Mario!'. This application, set for release on August 26, 2025, allows users to interact with a 3D model of Mario's head by pulling and twisting it. The concept resembles the start menu of the classic Super Mario 64 game, engaging both parents and children in a playful, interactive experience. The app, designed for intuitive use, enables users to see varied reactions from Mario, fostering a shared gaming experience between children and adults.

The app requires either iOS 15 or Android 6.0 to function, ensuring compatibility with contemporary mobile devices. Alongside the digital release, a line of physical products christened "My Mario" will also be available. This includes two new wooden block sets featuring characters that can also serve as amiibo figures in compatible Nintendo games. The sets are priced at 2,980 yen for a three-piece set and 19,980 yen for a more comprehensive set with 30 pieces.

A new multimedia venture by Nintendo includes a series of stop-motion videos called 'It's Me, Mario!'. These short films, each approximately one minute long, are designed to capture Mario’s diverse expressions and movements, airing for free on the official 'My Mario' website and various channels. This venture is part of a broader strategy to prepare for Mario’s 40th-anniversary celebrations, highlighting the cultural significance and enduring appeal of this iconic character.

Nintendo is planning to expand the reach of this new Mario-themed product line beyond Japan, aiming for a release outside the country at the start of 2026. The company has also announced plans to introduce additional merchandise, including apparel, plush toys, and general goods, further enticing fans of the franchise and collectors alike.

With these strategic releases, Nintendo continues to innovate by blending traditional game elements with modern technology, providing fans with immersive and nostalgic experiences. This expansion not only strengthens the Mario brand but also aligns with Nintendo's focus on family-friendly content, fostering intergenerational connections through gaming.
