Nintendo is unveiling the Donkey Kong Country expansion for its Super Nintendo World theme park at Universal Studios Japan. This expansion was initially announced in 2021 and was delayed from an anticipated Spring 2024 opening.

The highlight of the new park section is a ride named Mine Cart Madness, which is inspired by a level from the iconic 1994 SNES game. Riders will enjoy a thrilling barrel cannon launch and a jungle adventure that includes challenges like crossing a collapsed track.

Scheduled for a 10-minute livestream today at 5PM ET, this presentation will focus solely on the theme park expansion, without any news on gaming or the upcoming Switch 2 console. With this addition, the park's size will increase by up to 70 percent, and it is set to open similar attractions in Orlando by May 2025.
