NVIDIA announced DLSS 4 will come to all RTX GPUs
NVIDIA unveils DLSS 4 for all RTX GPUs, boosting frame rates with new tech.
At CES 2025, NVIDIA introduced DLSS 4, announcing it would extend its real-time image upscaling technology to all RTX GPUs, even the discontinued RTX 20 series. However, not all features of DLSS 4 will be available to older models.
The new GeForce RTX 50 series will include the powerful Multi Frame Generation capability, generating up to three additional frames per rendered frame. This innovation can significantly increase frame rates, achieving 4K 240 FPS fully ray-traced gaming with the flagship GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card priced at $1,999.
DLSS 4 is also marked as a major upgrade in AI models, significantly improving temporal stability, reducing ghosting, and enhancing the movement detail in visuals. A total of 75 games and apps will initially support DLSS 4, with popular titles like Alan Wake and Cyberpunk 2077 updated to utilize the Multi Frame Generation feature.
